WARD , REV. LYNTON - 75, of Spring City, passed away Mon., July 17 at his residence. He was a US Army veteran of World War II and Korea, and was a member of the American Legion. He was pastor of Madisonville Church of God of Prophecy, and had been a minister of the Church of God of Prophecy for the past 40 years. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Deloris Ward ; a son, Doug Ward of Georgia; daughters, Linda Adams of Indiana, and Libby Massengale of Oliver Springs; five grandchildren; sisters, Aileen Lane, Julia Buckner, Kathleen Wells, and Iona Burnette, all of Knoxville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thurs. at the Arrowhead Church of God of Prophecy with the Revs. Wayne Hall, Eugene Weakley, and Chip Meadows officiating. The body will then be taken to the Madisonville Church of God of Prophecy where it will lie in state from 2-3 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at the Church Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the VFW Post 5156 of Sweetwater. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Weaver Funeral Home, 5815 Western Ave. in charge. 588-3868.
