Brittany Lauren Summey Clinton High sophomore
Brittany Lauren Summey , 16, of Claxton, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2001, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Brittany had attended Claxton School and was a sophomore at Clinton High School and a member of the varsity cheerleading squad.
She was born Dec. 26, 1984, in Knox County. She was the daughter of Darrell and Stacey Summey of Claxton, who survive her.
In addition to her parents, Brittany is survived by her brother, Bradley Darrell Summey of the home; her grandparents, John W. and Gladys Summey of Vonore and Paul and Myrtle Moretz of Claxton; and by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Another grandmother, Isabell Summey , died earlier.
The funeral will be held at 8 tonight, Feb. 15, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. The Rev. Bill Jackson and the Rev. Paul Frick will officiate.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton.
The family requests that any memorials be in the form of donations to the Brittany Summey Scholarship Fund, c/o Clinton High School, 425 Dragon Drive, Clinton, TN 37716.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
