Scott Edward Long - age 75 of Lenoir City passed away Friday, June 14, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Scott farmed all his life and was a mail carrier with the Lenoir City Post Office for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ella Sue Thompson Long; brother, Wayne Long and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Alex and Myrtle Whitaker. Survived by his wife of 52 years, Aileen Long; son and daughter-in-law, Wesley and Sharon Long; daughters, Beth Long Merritt all of Lenoir City and Cheryl Long Weaver of Louisville; grandson, Nathan Long of Lenoir City; sisters-in-law, Ruth Whitaker of Louisville and Pat Whitaker of Lenoir City; special cousins, Hope Dotson and Marion Stinnett; several nieces and nephews; good friend, John Davis, and best pal, Jed. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m Monday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Jimmy Guider officiating. Family and friends will gather at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Hickory Valley Cemetery for graveside services. Click Funeral Home, Lenoir City is in charge of arrangements.
