U.S. Veteran Charles Spradlin, age 85, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday September 6, 2011, at Asbury Place at Maryville. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and attended Oakland Baptist Church. He served in WWII in the Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Spradlin; son, Steve Spradlin; parents, Will and Eve Spradlin; brother, Troy Spradlin; and sister-in-law, Willie Spradlin. He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Christie Spradlin, David and Janet Spradlin, Matthew Spradlin, Kenneth Spradlin, and Ronnie Spradlin; daughter, Pam; several grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to members of Harmony Baptist Church and Oakland Baptist Church for their support during this time and a very special thanks to Richard Greene. Graveside and interment service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2011, at Grandview Cemetery, Rev. J.C. Millard officiating. Family and friends may call at their convenience from 12:00 PM until 5:00 PM Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865)982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
