Dorsey Eugene "Duke" Morgan, 64, of Stuart, formerly of Davin, died suddenly at his home on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007.
Born Oct. 30, 1943, at Coal Mountain, he was the son of the late Harrison David and Ruby Parton Morgan.
Mr. Morgan was a retired coal miner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Morgan; a brother, Lowell Morgan; and five sisters, Mildred Morgan Simpson, Geneva Morgan Lester, Lizzie "Tootsie" Morgan Brown, Julie Morgan Wallace and Terri Kay Morgan.
Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Morgan Caldwell and her husband, Kenny; his sons, Phillip Morgan and his wife, Valerie, Martin Morgan and Shane Morgan; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild, all of Stuart, Va. He is also survived by a brother, James Morgan and his wife, Mary, of Brenton; five sisters, Rita Morgan Jessie and her husband, Arvil, of Kernersville, N.C., Dorothy Morgan Goins and her husband, Arnold, of Mount Airy, N.C., Kathy Morgan Jeffrey and her husband, Mark, of Mount Juliet, Tenn., Teresa Morgan Trent of Mill Creek and Sherry Morgan Smith of Charleston; 23 nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at Brenton Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Knotts officiating.
