Martha Blanche Sparks Goldman, age 100, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2011 in Anderson, IN. She was born on June 4, 1910, in the Binfield Community of Blount County TN to the late George Sparks and Rachel White Sparks. Blanche was a descendent of the late Nathan and Jane Sparks (grandparents) of Cades Cove. She graduated from Friendsville High School. She lived most of her adult life in Indianapolis, IN and the past 10 years lived with her daughter and son-in-law Norma Lynn Goldman Harris and John Harris in Anderson, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Howard and Roy Sparks; sisters, Mary Jane, Arvie, Gertie, Ella Simerly, Tim VanMetre, and Beulah Aller; Nieces, Jan Coletto and Bobbie Glassburn; nephew, Roy Sparks, Jr. and infant son, George Edward Goldman. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Norma Lynn Goldman Harris and John Harris; nephews Mickey and Cheryl VanMetre, Ronald and Barbara Aller, Larry and Ellen Aller; nieces and husband, Jan VanMetre Cooper and Richard Cooper and Juanita Simerly Roney; many great nieces and nephews; and Norm and Gina Goldman and Peggy Goldman Payne and Jeff Payne.
Celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 11, graveside in Grandview Cemetery, Rev. Ron Matthews, officiating.
