She was a member of Old Fashion Missionary Baptist Church and had married her soul mate and love of her life, Paul Boring. She was a loving Christian, who enjoyed gardening and family, a wonderful cook always willing to help anyone in need. She will be greatly missed. Preceded in death by first husband, Bruner Powers; parents, Paul and Bertha Amos; children, John “Sonny” Mason Powers, Wilma Jean Powers, Barbara Lynn Davis, Jack Powers, Tommy Powers and Mark Powers; brothers, Paul David Amos, O.D. Amos, J.D. Amos, Bobbie Amos; sisters, Agnes Horne, Gladys Rogers, Arnetta Wynn, Reba Broome and Joyce Harrill. Survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Paul Boring; daughter, Patricia Murr; stepson, Ray Boring; brother in law and wife, Ernest and Shelby Boring; grandchildren, Diana Rogers, Debra Breeden, Bobby Nelson, Tracey McKenzie, John Powers, Robin Powers and Tamara Montgomery; great grandchildren, John Dyer Jr., Yvonne Powers, Helen Hopkins, Autumn McKenzie, Lynnsey Breeden, Matthew McKenzie, Sebastian Powers, Jaron Powers, Maleah Juray Powers and Gage Montgomery; great great grandchildren, Abby and Dakota Dyer; on Mr. Boring’s side 1 granddaughter; five grandsons and seven great grandsons; several nieces, nephews and many friends. The family would like to thank Kindred Health Care and Blount Hospice. Funeral service 8:00 PM Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Ray Caldwell officiating. Graveside service and interment will be held 10:00 AM Friday at Clark’s Grove Cemetery.
