(October 16, 1949 - April 21, 2011) Raymond Leon Cook, age 61, of Greenback, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital. Raymond was a Christian and a member of Morganton Baptist Church. He had unique gift with children as they all seemed to be drawn to him. He loved his family, horses, and was an avid hunter. He served in maintenance at Greenback School for over 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Juanita Carpenter Cook. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda McCarter Cook; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Judy Cook and Gary and Kathy Cook; avid hunting buddy and special friend, Bill Bales; daughter-like friend, Sonya Russell and husband Mike; many more friends too numerous to name; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Monday, April 25, 2011, at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Tommy Self officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation on Raymond’s behalf to the Greenback Rescue Squad, 6815 Morganton Road, Greenback, TN 37742. Family and friends will meet 11:00 AM Tuesday at Morganton Cemetery for the interment, Rev. Scott Huffstetler officiating.
