(January 30, 1955 - January 8, 2014) Robert “Steve” Green, age 58, of Newport, passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at his home after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his father, George M. Green; step-father, Kenneth Raines; brother, Wayne Green; grandparents, Charles and Ethel Green and Hobart and Ruby Blazer. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Tim Patterson; granddaughters, Ashley Green and Alyssa Patterson; mother, Barbara Raines; brothers, George Green, Jr., and Ricky Green; sister and brother-in-law, Susie and Jeff Evans; special sister-in-law, Linda Green; special niece, Kristin Evans; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Amedisys Hospice Care and Steve’s nurse, Amanda Dallas and to Pastor Jerry Raines and the Open Door Church family.
