(May 5, 1953 - April 18, 2011)
Charles “Wayne” Green, age 57, of Parrottsville, went to be with Jesus after a long illness on Monday, April 18, 2011 at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. He attended Victory Baptist Church where he played the Bass. He was an accomplished, self, taught musician, and had played music for many years, but his greatest joy was with the group Hosanna Singers, which he co-founded with his wife. They worked tirelessly to help those in need and spread the gospel thru their music. He retired from Wal-Mart after 21 years of service. He was preceded in death by his dad, George M. Green and step-dad, Kenneth Raines; grandparents, Charles and Ethel Green and Hobart and Ruby Blazer. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Parrottsville; son, Alan (Amy) Green of Knoxville, Kayla (Senneway) Sartin of Gatlinburg; mother, Barbara Raines of Newport; brothers, George Green, Jr. of Parrottsville, Steve and Ricky Green of Newport; sister, Susie (Jeff) Evans of Newport; grandchildren, Chelsea Overholt, Megan, Allyson, Lexie and Hunter Green and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Wednesday, April 20, 2011 in Manes Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services following at 8:00 pm, with Rev. Doug Messer, Rev. Jerry Raines and Ed Frazier officiating. Burial will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, April 21, 2011 in Stokely Chapel Cemetery.
