DAY , WALTER WINFIELD, JR. - age 90 of Knoxville, died Thursday morning, November 17, 2005 at the family home. He was a member and Deacon of Washington Pike Baptist Church, and a member of Fisherman's Sunday School Class. He retired from Sears, Roebuck and Co. with 30 years of service. Mr. Day was a WWII Veteran who served in the U S Army and U S Air Corps. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1931. Preceded in death by parents, Ada and Walter Day , Sr. two brothers one sister. Survivors: wife, Sue E. Day of Knoxville daughter, Connie Sue Day of Atlanta, GA son and daughter-in-law, Glen Alan and Susan Hill Day of Charleston, SC two grandchildren three great-grandchildren sisters, Mary Lou Parker and Beulah May Day of Knoxville sisters-in-law, Louella Tapp Day and Bobbie Clark Day Walston several nieces and nephews. To those who wish, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Suite #240, 900 E. Hill Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37915. A funeral service will be held in Stevens Mortuary Chapel at 7:00 p.m. Sunday with Rev. Barney Evans officiating. Family and friends will meet at Stevens Mortuary Monday, November 21, 2005 at 12:15 p.m. to go in procession to Woodlawn Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. graveside service and interment. Pallbearers: Deacons of Washington Pike Baptist Church. Honorary Pallbearers: Members of Fisherman's Sunday School Class. Full military honors will be provided. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at N. Broadway. Mr. Day 's guest book is also available at www.stevensmortuaryinc.com
