PARKER, MARY LOU (DAY) - age 89, of Knoxville, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Mercy Residential Hospice. She was a life-long member of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church and Kirk Hills Presbyterian Church, and retired from TVA after 38 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter W. Day, Sr., and Ada Parker Day; brothers, Volney P. Day (Louella), Walter W. Day, Jr., and Lloyd Albert Day; sister, Ada Frances Day; granddaughter, Angela Gail Boardman; nephews, Walter W. (Sunny) Day II, and Gary Clark Day. Survived by her twin children, C. Wayne Parker (Martha) and May Parker Boardman (Spencer); grandchildren, Joey Parker (Elizabeth),Brian Parker,April Boardman Perryman (Randy),Amy Boardman (Adam McCampbell), Paul Boardman, Sr. (Lawton), Jason Boardman, Ben Boardman (Jennifer); great-grandchildren, Ella Kate and Grayson Parker, Zachary and Emily Morrow, Annabel, Paul, Jr., Isaac and Eliana Boardman, Maranda and Christian Perryman; sister, Beulah May Day; sisters-in-law, Sue Ellen Day and Bobbie Day Walston; nephew, Glen Day (Susan); niece, Connie Day; special family, Wanda Day and Debbie Day. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association 4708 Papermill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Stevens Mortuary, Oglewood Avenue at North Broadway. A memorial service will follow with Reverend Robert Davis officiating.
