KITTS , MARY ELIZABETH - age 55, of Knoxville, passed away Monday, January 31, 2000 at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She is a endowed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was very active in the Republican party of the 8th District. Preceded in death by parents, Arlie and Lula Pike ; husband, Ralph B. Kitts ; son, Ralph B. Kitts , II; daughter, Billie Elizabeth Kitts ; brother, Carl Pike . She is survived by sons, Rex Kitts of Strawberry Plains and Ralph B. Kitts III of Asheville, NC; 3 grandchildren; brother, Clyde Pike . Funeral services will be held Wednesday February 2, 2000 at 8 p.m. at McCarty Evergreen Chapel with Bishop Kevin Cruze officiating. Interment services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Thorngrove Cemetery, family and friends will meet in the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. The Kitts family will receive friends Wednesday 6-8 p.m. at McCarty Evergreen Chapel. McCarty Evergreen Chapel Asheville Hwy. in charge.
