SALISBURY, MD-Shirley Ann Kunowsky, 68, of Salisbury, and formerly of Langley Park, Maryland, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at her home.
Born in Newport, Tennessee, November 19, 1932, she was the daughter of the late William Burnett and Eula Raines Burnett. Her husband, Albert A. Kunowsky, preceded her in death in 1981.
Mrs. Kunowsky was employed as an analyst with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, retiring in 1989, after 38 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Princess Anne. She was also a member and past vice president/treasurer of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARF).
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James G. and Linda M. Kunowsky of Salisbury; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Genevieve and Mermel Valentine, and Betsy and Bob Worley, of Newport; and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Paul Burnett, preceded her in death.
A funeral service was held Thursday evening, at 7 p.m., at Bounds Funeral Home, on East Main Street, in Salisbury, where family and friends called from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Pastor William R. Horner officiated. A graveside service was held Friday, at 1 p.m., at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, in Silver Springs, Maryland.
