U.S. Veteran Gerald Henry Valentine born November 15, 1930, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007. He served as a Tech Sergeant in the United States Air Force, Army, and Navy and was honorably discharged. He served as a medic in the Korean War. He was a member of the Veterans of Under Aged Military Service. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter TN 102, Veterans of Foreign Wars and AMVETS. He was a past commander of AMVETS Post 75 in Newport, TN. He was a master mason in Cornerstone Lodge #699. He was a past Scout Master of Boy Scout Troop# 376 in Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Mae (Waddell) Valentine, and his parents Henry Robert and Ruby (Collins) Valentine, and his infant son Timothy Valentine. He is survived by his loving wife Edna (Frazier) Valentine of Newport, TN, sons and daughter; Anthony Paul Valentine, Jerelene Rachael (Valentine) White, Nicholas Robert Valentine, James Henry Valentine, Christopher Valentine and Charles David Valentine of Cleveland, Ohio, step-children Rhonda M. Campbell, Richard C. Campbell, and Ronald S. Campbell all of Newport, TN, brothers and sisters Norma Jean Valentine, Kate (Valentine) Spetrino, James “Mickey” Valentine of Cleveland, Ohio and Mermel “Tiny” Valentine of Newport, TN, grandchildren James D. Valentine, Maria Valentine, Katrina (Valentine) Sies, Zachary G. Valentine, Kyle N. Valentine, Sierra N. (Valentine) Jones, Mitchell Joseph White of Cleveland, Ohio, and great-grandchildren Adrianna Valentine,Desiree Valentine, Lily Sies, and R. Jacob Jones.
Funeral Services will be held 2 pm Monday, June 18, 2007 at the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Delmar Williamson officiating. The burial will follow in Union Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday, June 16, 2007 from 7 pm until 9 pm and Sunday, June 17, 2007 from 7 pm until 9 pm at the Manes Funeral Home.
