(February 27, 1937 - April 18, 2010) Billy Frank Smith, age 73 of Newport passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010 at his home. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a member of Northport Baptist Church. Billy Frank retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation. He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Mary Blazer Smith, sister Ida Lou Taylor and brother Edward Smith. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Christene Gray Smith of Newport, brothers and sisters in law Jack and Frances Smith of Morristown, Denver and Loanne Smith of Newport, sister in law and brother in law Joyce and P.A. Clark of Newport, special nephew and family Tracey, Tammy, Dakoda, and Kameran Pack of Newport, other nieces and nephews David, Randy, and Gary Smith, Mitch and Steve Taylor, and Sandy Gilbert, WildaKay McCurry, Vickie Taylor and Karen Taylor devoted friends Janie Owens and Kevin and Rhonda Wilds. He will also be sadly missed by other family and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held 8 pm Tuesday, April 20, 2010 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wade Holbrook and Rev. James Suggs officiating. Family will receive friends Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 1pm to 3pm and 5pm to 8pm prior to the funeral. Burial will be 11am Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Gregg, Glen Bradley, Carroll Masoner, David Smith, Garry Smith, and Randy Smith.
