Creswell Jr., C.L. – Age 83, passed away on May 10, 2012 in Knoxville. Mr. Creswell was a member of Bell's Chapel Baptist Church for over 50 years where he proudly served as a Deacon. He proudly served his country in the United States Military during World War II. Mr Creswell will be remembered as a loving and kind father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to all. Mr. Creswell was preceded in death by his father, Clarence L. Creswell, Sr. and his mother, Mary Hickman Creswell and Orpha Whaley Creswell; his first wife, Marie Hornsby Creswell; his second wife, Mary Roberts Creswell; his step-daughter, Marie Beilo; his brothers, Carl, Fred, Oliver, Wallace, Stanley and Arthur Creswell and Johnny Hickman; his sisters, Barbara Creswell, Dorothy Lindsey Roberts, and Alma Smith. He is survived by his sons, Larry, Jerry, Dennis Sr., John Michael "Mike", and Charles Creswell; his daughters, Cathy Walker and Patricia Henson; his step-children, Carolyn Lacey, Joann Kiser, Linda Creswell, Shirley Mynatt, Mary Darlene McElroy, and Rhonda Gail Lowery; his brother, Ed Creswell; his sisters, Joyce "Shakey" and Stanley Griffin, Shirley "Purcey" Freeman and Linda "Pearl" Creswell; and 23 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to offer a special thank you to sister Shirley "Purcey" Freeman. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 3-6 p.m. at Highland South Funeral Home with a funeral service to immediately follow in the Chapel at Highland South officiated by Arthur Pedigo, David Gibson, Eddie Kitts and Charles Parker. Graveside services will be performed on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Highland South Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be the grandsons: James, Dennis Jr., Cory, and Terrance Creswell, Tim and Jason Watson, Noah King and Dylan Simmons.
