Clyde Wilford Buhl , 76, of Strawberry Plains, died Thursday, July 9, 1998, at Hillcrest North Health Care Center in Knoxville.
Mr. Buhl was self-employed as a farmer.
He was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Spring Hill, Tenn., the son of John and Ella Blazier Buhl . He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, achieving the rank of private first class.
Mr. Buhl is survived by two daughters, Wanda Evans and her husband, Harry, of Oak Ridge, and Louise Burdette and her husband, Ricky, of Mount Airy, Md.; and seven sons, Wilford Buhl and his wife, Betty, of Powell, Sam Buhl and his wife, Judy, and Marvin Buhl and his wife, Libby, all of Knoxville, Frank Buhl and his wife, Patricia, of Strawberry Plains, Johnnie Buhl and his wife, Cindy, of Clinton, and Don Buhl and his wife, Becky, and Wilburn Buhl , all of Westminster, Md.
He is also survived by two sisters, Audrey Stooksbury of Andersonville and Mary Bean of Franklin; a brother, Bill Buhl of Morrow, Ga.; and by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Dorothy Harbin of Knoxville is the mother of his children.
Three sisters and three brothers, Lillian Babb, Artie Stooksbury, Bertha Abbott, Gleason Buhl , Elmer Buhl and Otis Buhl , died earlier.
The funeral was held Sunday, July 12, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. David Cardwell officiating.
Burial followed at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Clinton.
