French Corbett, age 71, of Lincoln, CA, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011, after an extended illness. She graduated from the University Of Tennessee School Of Nursing in 1960. She served in the United States Air Force, retiring with the rank of Lt. Colonel, and was a retired registered nurse from Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital. She was a member of Greenback First Presbyterian Church in Greenback, and attended New Castle First United Methodist Church of New Castle, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. and Dicie Bohanan French and brothers, Dr. John H. French and James B. French. She is survived by her sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy Giffin and Wanda and Dallas Maxwell all of Maryville; brother and sisters-in-law, Donald and Bobbie French and Mary Nelle French all of Maryville and Margaret French of Elizabethtown, NC; best friend and fiancé, Jim Graham of Newport; and several nieces, nephews, and numerous friends. Graveside service and interment will be held 3:30 PM Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Logan’s Chapel Methodist Church, Dr. Jerry Russell officiating. A memorial service will be held in California at a later date. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
