TESTERMAN, MERVIN D. - age 77, a native of Sullivan County and long time business owner in Morristown passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at University of Tennessee Hospital in Knoxville. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Herman Testerman and Nadi Roberts Testerman; siblings Henrietta Cleek, Howard Testerman, Freda Taylor, Cecil Testerman and James Testerman. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Morristown; he served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War; member of Masonic Lodge 231, served on the Morristown Industrial Board, Senior Citizens Board, Hamblen County Substance Abuse Coalition, Morristown City School Board; manager of Sterchi's Furniture and proprietor of TES Furniture in downtown Morristown until his retirement in 2010. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary Lou Smith Testerman; children Trecia (Michael) Walters, Hobert Dale Testerman, Thomas (Mae) Testerman, Mary Louise (Mark) Grady, and Freda Ann (Paul) Hyde; grandchildren, Timothy Walters, Rick and David Testerman, Captain William "Bill" (Tausha) Grady, Elizabeth (Nate) Reim and Margaret Shelby Grady, Hannah Nichols and Madelyn Hyde; sisters LouElla Barbor and Mable (Charlie) Price; several nieces and nephews along with very special friends Victor and Connie Trobaugh, Rick Hartman and Laura Higgins. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Morristown. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 24, 2011 at First United Methodist Church. Military graveside service interment will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon Mountain Home National Cemetery in Mountain Home, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice. Allen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
