Vincent Douglas Willingham Sr., age 46, of Strawberry Plains, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 7, 2015. He was known as “Big Vinny the Gentle Giant”, and had a loving and gentle nature, was always optimistic and had a great sense of humor. He was a member of Redemption Church, and worked on the parking and security team. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Lawrence Willingham Sr.; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Martha Smith. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kristi Willingham; daughter, Kale Willingham; son, Vincent Douglas “V.J.” Willingham II; mother, Vivian Willingham; brothers, Larry Lawrence Willingham Jr. and Marcus Willingham; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Vincent loved his church so much, that he requested in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Redemption Church Building fund, 3550 Pleasant Ridge Rd. Knoxville, TN 37921. Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Monday, October 12, 2015 at Redemption Church in Knoxville. The interment service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at Rocky Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday at Redemption Church. Arrangements are with Miller Funeral Home, Maryville. (865) 982-6041 www.millerfuneralhome.org
