HARDING, RUTH P. WOLFENBARGER DUNN - age 77 of Rutledge passed away peacefully at home with family and friends on Saturday, August 21, 2010. Ruth was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church, was a devoted wife, and loving mother and grandmother. She believed in tradition and cared deeply for others, her home was always open to those in need. She worked for many years at the Down Home Restaurant in Rutledge; she was an excellent seamstress, and loved cooking and baking. She touched countless lives with her gifts of quilts, fried pies, and stack cakes. Ruth taught those around her to love unconditionally and the importance of keeping family and friends close. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Selda Wolfenbarger; step-mother, Vada Wolfenbarger; husband, Harry Dunn; brothers, Burchell, Carl and Bruce Wolfenbarger; sisters, Grace Phipps, Vorena Dalton, and Edna Dyer; and step-brothers, Fielden and Ed Harrell. Survivors include her loving husband of 44 years, Fred Harding; children, Kenny (becky) Dunn, Carl Dewayne (Lois) Dunn, Darryl (tammy) Harding; grandchildren, Pam (Greg) Snyder, Angela (Ken) Fisher, Darian Harding; great grandchildren, Kelsea Lawson and Maddie Snyder; step-grandchildren, Amber and Champ Clark, Brittany and Jorge Diaz, Ashley McGhee, and Jason Scearce, Candace McGhee and Jeff Vandergriff; step great grandchildren, Lauren Fisher, Myla Vandergriff, Zachary Diaz, Keaton Scearce, Cadence Clark, Summer White; step-children, Fred Allen, Mary Lou and Benny Harding and their families; siblings, Rev. Oliver (Carrie) Wolfenbarger, Wawona Moody, Mary "June" Winkler; sister-in-law, Jenny Wolfenbarger; step-sister, Delphia Wilmoth; several nieces and nephews including special nephew, Andrew "Junior" Dunn and his family; special friends whom she loved as her own children, Larry Lindsey, Carol, William, and Rebekah; Tammy Jo Ballard, Ed, Jennifer, Jonathan, Tracy, and Tiffany. A special thank you to the staff of St. Mary's Hospice for their kindness and compassion during her illness. Funeral services will be 8:00 P.M. Monday, August 23, 2010 at Southside Baptist Church, 370 Hwy 92, Rutledge, Tn. with Rev. Oliver Wolfenbarger and Rev. Sean Watson officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in Neal Cemetery in Powder Springs, Tn. The family will receive friends Monday evening 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. prior to services at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Dunn, Larry Lindsey, Harold Moody, Bobby Wolfenbarger, Ronnie Wolfenbarger, and Scott Wolfenbarger. Arrangements by Smith-Reagan Funeral Home of Rutledge, Tennessee.
