BUCKNER, MR. CURTIS - age 84, of Luttrell, born June 6, 1917, passed away 10:15 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2001, at his home. He was a member of Warwick's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Preceded in death by son, Thomas Dewey Buckner; sisters, Aquella Buckner; parents, Thomas and Lula (McHone) Buckner; sisters, Ollie Tharpe and Bessie Buckner; brothers, Rev. Hubert, Delbert, Roy, Dewey , and Clayton Buckner. Survivors: wife of 64 years, Fredamae ( Washam ) Buckner of Luttrell; daughters and sons-in-law, Louella and Rev. Don Richardson of Maynardville, Velma Drucella and Gordon Harrington of Kokomo, Indiana, Fontella and Albert Sands, of Sharpsville, Indiana, Wilma Annette and Louis Grissom of Knoxville, Dorothy Jean and Jim Crews of Woodriver, Illinois, Betsy and Ray Chadwick and Donna Faye and Earl Russelll, all of Luttrell; sons and daughters-in-law, Boyd and Mable Buckner, and Billy and Crystal Buckner, all of Maynardville, Timothy and Lisa Buckner of Washburn, Larry and Jan Buckner of Strawberry Plains, Donnal Ray and Donna Buckner of Corryton; 36 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, and numerous step grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Junior Buckner of Luttrell; sisters, Mossie Sharp of Knoxville, Frances Savage of Ohio, Minnie Bell Savage of Luttrell, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 2 p.m. Thursday, Cooke Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Ray Headrick and Rev. Stewart Skeen officiating with music by Mable Buckner and Warwick's Chapel Quartet. Interment in Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers will be all grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, step grandchildren, and step great-grandchilden. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Cooke Mortuary, Maynardville.
