WASHAM , MR. BOBBY KENNETH - age 70, of Luttrell, born July 13, 1933, went home to be with Jesus, 2:20 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was a faithful member of Mountain View Church of God of the Union Assembly. A retired employee of Silvers Furniture with 42 years of loyal service and was also a brick and stone mason. Bobby was a very talented musician with the fiddle and guitar and had his own country music band in the 1960’s and 70’s, the original Bobby Washam and the Union County Ramblers. Preceded in death by parents, Dewey and Myrtle Washam brothers, Edward and Cleteus Washam sister, Freda Mae Buckner. Survivors: loving wife of 50 years, Ophelia Washam daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Ronnie Brown grandsons, Randy and wife, Cindy Brown, Russell Brown granddaughter, Lindsey Brown two great-grandchildren, Cade and Reece Brown brothers, Vernon Washam of Sevierville, Lowell Washam of Corryton sister, Imogene Smith of Knoxville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Cooke Mortuary Chapel, Rev. Paul Thomas Hughes, Rev. Larry Chandler, Rev. Charles McClure officiating, with music by the Joyful Sounds and the McClure Family. Interment 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Pleasant View Cemetery, Maynardville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobby’s memory to The Local Building Fund of Mountain View Church of God, Attn: Ricky Merritt, 336 Tazewell Pike, Luttrell, TN 37779.
