Mrs. Audrey Diane Hammontree Sturdivant, age 45, wife of Jim Sturdivant, of Wilkesboro, died Friday, January 25, 2008.
Mrs. Sturdivant was born September 18, 1962 in Blount County, Tennessee to Edwin Lee and Wanda Sue Everett Hammontree. She was a graduate of East Tennessee State University. She was a loan executive at Yadkin Valley Bank in Wilkesboro. Mrs. Sturdivant was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and in recent years, served on the vestry and pastoral search committee.
A private family burial was held at St. Paul's cemetery on Monday, January 28, 2008. A memorial service was held at 5:30 PM, Monday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Thomas R. Morris, Rector officiating. Following the service, the family received friends at the church's Parish Hall.
In addition to her husband, Jim: family members include her son, Luke; her parents, Ed and Wanda of Sevierville; her brother, Ed of Sevierville; nephew, Thomas and a niece, Hannah of Kodak, Tennessee.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, NC Triad Affiliate, 1106 Burke Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101 or an education fund for her son, Luke Everett Sturdivant. Education fund donations should be sent to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, P O Box 95, Wilkesboro, NC 28697.
