Delta resident, William “Don” Tuck, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011, at the Delta County Memorial Hospital. He was 79. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5–7 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011, at the Taylor Funeral Service Chapel, 682 1725 Road in Delta. A funeral service honoring Don’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2011, at the Garnet Mesa Baptist Church with Pastor Dick Neale officiating. Burial will follow at the Delta City Cemetery with military honors presented by the Lee Marts V.F.W. Post # 3571. William Don Tuck was born to Mose and Violet Marie (Potter) Tuck on December 19, 1931, in Blount County, Maryville. After retiring from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant, Don worked as an auto mechanic. More importantly, Don was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was also a member of the Garnet Mesa Baptist Church in Delta. Don enjoyed his church family who were all very dear to him. On October 4, 1954, Don married the love of his life, Geneva Ilene Eshelman in Denver, Colo. They had five wonderful children, Richard, David, Kevin and Karen Abeyta and husband Joe, all of Delta, and Bryan and wife Jeanette of Gunnison, Colo. They were blessed with 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Don is also survived by two brothers, Harold Tuck and wife Helen of Maryville, and Steve Tuck and wife Sarah of Greeneville, Tenn.; and two sisters, Barbara Toole and husband Roger, and Betty Coning and husband Albert, all of Maryville. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Tuck; three brothers, Raymond Tuck, Wallace Dale Tuck and Larry G. Tuck; two sisters, Wanda F. Hutchinson and Angie Isbel; and his parents, Mose and Violet Tuck. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Don’s memory to Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Colorado, P.O. Box 24, Delta, Colorado 81416. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Taylor Funeral Service and Crematory.
