Delores Ruth Layman, age 68 of Newport passed away February 4, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Lowell Layman, son Scott Layman, parents Creed and Cordia Hance, sisters, Rose Duncan, Eula Webb, and Jennie Finchum. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Bobby Sprouse, son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Cindy Layman, brothers Jay Hance and Ronnie Hance, grandchildren Courtney Sprouse, Lacey Layman and Ashley Layman, special friend Marion Collier. She will be sadly missed by a host of other family and friends. Funeral services will be held 7 pm Thursday, February 6, 2014 in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Williamson and Rev. Bobbie Chambers officiating. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 prior to the funeral service. Burial will be held 11 am Friday, February 7, 2014 at English Mt. Baptist Church Cemetery.
