COOK, LOIS S. - 87, of Johnson City, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, at her residence. Mrs. Cook was a native of St. Clair, Tennessee, and the daughter of the late Christopher and Mattie Brooks Speegle. Mrs. Cook was of the Baptist Faith and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Clinton Cook in 1999 and a brother, Herman Speegle and a sister, Roberta Simpson. She is survived by a son, Rodney Cook and his wife Shirley, Powell, TN, a grandson, Michael Bowles and wife, Kendall, Powell, TN, three granddaughters, Jamie Ogle, Kodak, TN, Teresita Fink and husband, Patrick, Sugarland, TX, Evangeline Guidry, Lake Jackson, TX; great granddaughters, Raelei Bowles and Kaycee Ogle; great grandsons, Graeme, Ian, and Bryson Fink, Sugarland, TX, and Richard Guidry Lake Jackson, TX. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Cook will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. , Monday, February 28, 2011 from the East Chapel of the Appalachian Funeral Home with Pasto David Montgomery officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Sunday, February 27 from the East Parlor of the funeral home.. Interment will follow the funeral service Monday at Washington County Memory Gardens. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
