Age 52, passed away November 30, 2001 of cancer at his home in Englewood, Florida, his mother was with him at the time.
He was born September 29, 1949 in Joliet, IL. He was a graduate of Lockport High School and attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL. Mr. Mackender worked for many years at Envon Pipe in Lemont, IL.
He is survived by his mother, Marge Shain Pilon of Countryside, IL; son, Brian Mackender of Joliet, IL; uncle Ed (Gail) Shain; aunt Marlene Shain and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Len Pilon; grandparents, Raymond and Lemoine Mackender , Frank and Mary Shain; brother, Michael Mackender Rouch.
It was Charles 's wish to be cremated and his remains be scattered in the Gulf of Mexico.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Dennis Catholic Church, 223 East 12th Street, Lockport, IL on Saturday, January 26, 2002 at 11:00 A.M.
