Gwendolyn Carol Self Groover, 56, of Maryville, passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2011, with her family by her side. Carol was a fun-loving person who loved her Lord and family and life. She will be dearly missed by her family and dear friends. Preceded in death by her father, Vernon Self; grandson, Cody River Gilmore; brother, David Vernon Self. Survivors include mother, Lola Self; daughter and son-in-law, Tenna M. and Jason Hays; son, Jackie D. (Toby) Gredig; adopted daughter, Margaret Hitson, fiancé, Leroy Sands; granddaughter, Mattison Raylei Hays; grandsons, Caden Hays and Logan Gredig; sister, Brenda Rogers; sister-in-law, Helen Self; several aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces to many to mention. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. David Hutsell officiating. The family and friends will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Central Point Baptist Church Cemetery for a graveside service.
