Paul Edward Rhea, 82, of Clinton, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 1997, at NHC HealthCare of Oak Ridge.
Mr. Rhea was a lifelong resident of Clinton and formerly owned and operated grocery stores in Clinton for 30 years. His stores were Quality Meats, Anderson Heights Market and Paul's Market.
He was the son of James and Lassie Rhea and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who served in the European Theater.
Mr. Rhea was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Clinton.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl Lorraine Rhea; a daughter, Janie Jackson of Clinton; a son, Dwaine Rhea and his wife, Lamara, of Hudson, Ohio; three grandchildren, Ashley Jackson of Clinton and Lorri and Jerry Rhea of Hudson; a sister, Marie Brown of Clinton; and by several nieces and nephews.
A sister and her husband, Ruby and Manco Coker, and another brother-in-law, Thomas Barkstel Brown , died earlier.
The funeral was held Sunday night, Dec. 28, in the chapel of Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton with the Rev. John Clark and the Rev. Ed Nelson officiating.
A graveside service was to be held at 11 this morning, Dec. 29, at Sunset Cemetery in Clinton.
The family requests any memorials be in the form of donations to St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 252 N. Main St., Clinton, TN 37716, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
