Died on the 18th November at his residence in Overton County, Mr. John Sherrill, age 63. Mr. Sherrill was an early settler in Tennessee and assisted in the explusion of the Cherokee Indians from the Eastern part of the State; he fought in the memorable battle of Kings Mountain where he received a wound. He was beloved and respected by his neighbors, and has left a wife and a numerous family and friends to lament their loss.
