Esther Ridenour, age 93, of Maryville, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at Asbury Place, Maryville. The youngest of 10 children, she was born in 1917 to George and Lou Weaver in Campbell County. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Walter M. Ridenour. Mrs. Ridenour is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Pat and Terry Payne, Maryville, and Sharon and Leroy Vaughn, Walland; grandchildren, Lisha Lail and husband Darrell, Maiden, N.C., Greg Payne and wife Susan, Maryville; Rob Payne, Maryville; Jeff Vaughn and wife Tammy, Walland; Michelle McClanahan and husband Tony, Maryville; great-grandchildren, Scott Payne, Maryville; Andrew Payne, bravely serving in Afghanistan, Jennifer and Jessica Lail, Maiden, N.C.; Dustin Payne, Maryville; Logan Vaughn, Walland; Whitney and Lauren McClanahan, Maryville. The family sincerely thanks the entire staff of the Village at Asbury Place and to Blount Memorial Hospice for exemplary care of our precious mother and grandmother. A private family entombment service to honor her life will take place at Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens, with Rev. Charles R. Murrell officiating. Sherwood Chapel and Memorial Gardens is honored to serve the Ridenour family.
