TESTER, IRENE CAMERON - age 75 of Morristown, TN, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011. She died at her home after a long illness. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by infant son, Roger Greenlee; parents, John William Cameron and Cora McCain Cameron of Grainger County; sisters, Mossie C. Solomon and husband James B. Solomon, of South Hill, VA and Grace C. Jarnagin and husband, Tommy Jarnagin of New Market, TN; brothers, Marvlin Cameron of Phoenix, AZ, Jady Cameron and wife Ina Pearl of Rutledge, TN, Eddy Cameron and wife Peggy of Akron, OH and brother-in-law, Otis Daniels of Blaine, TN. Survived by her husband, William (Bill) H. Tester of Morristown; brother, Kenneth Earl Cameron and wife Dorothy of Knoxville, TN; sister, Imogene C. Daniels of Strawberry Plains, TN; step-sons, Doyle Tester and wife Patricia of Butler, TN, Richard H. Tester and wife Thersa of Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Craig Tester of Butler, TN and Tiffany Spencer of Omaha, NE; great grandchildren, Eli, Erik, Elliott, Ava and Earl of Omaha, NE. Special nieces, Lynda Crafton of Radford, VA, Peggie Barker of South Hill, VA and Brenda Jean Kornegay of Crystal Springs, MS and several other nieces and nephews. Irene was an avid bowler in the City League Tournaments for many years, also bowled over 30 state tournaments, National and Regional Tournaments, in her younger years. She also loved to fish and hunt. She loved all sports, Especially the Tennessee Vols and only missed 2 games in 46 years. She was a volunteer at Morristown Hamblen Hospital for 34 years and was director of the gift shop. Irene loved her church, Calvary Baptist and was saved in 1973. She always enjoyed singing in the choir. She was a member of the Faithful Followers Sunday School Class and also a member of the Bible Explores. She headed up Women's Outreach programs. The family would like to send a special thank you to Irene's caregivers, Brenda Frost, Tammy Foister, Blair Wilson, Jamie Welch, Lori Couch, Tiffany Linkous, Tessa Fox, Mary Jane Cady and Tammy Courtney. Our Thanks also to U.T. Hospice and especially to Greta Riddle. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Fannon and Rev. Mike Heneger officiating. Interment will follow in Hamblen Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 1 - 3 PM, Sunday prior to the service. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church or to the charity of your choice. "I have had the privilege to know both Irene & Bill Tester for many years as volunteers at MHHS. They are a special couple who have always looked for ways to serve others in our community. Irene Tester was a Lifetime Member of the MHHS Auxiliary and began serving as a volunteer in 1974. My fondest memories of Irene was her smile, and how she would bake special things for people she knew. She had a servants heart. Our hospital family and community will truly miss Irene Tester, and the many acts of kindness that followed her each day. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bill Tester and the entire family."
