Samuel Eldridge Badgett, Sr., age 69, born June 13, 1941, went home to be with his heavenly father on January 23, 2011. He was preceded in death by father, Eldridge Badgett; and mother, Pauline Snapp Valentine; and sisters, Bessie Swinger and Paronic Valentine. He was a devoted member of Mt. Zion AME Zion Church of Louisville, Tenn., member of Tennessee Valley Elk Lodge James E. Derk Lodge #1152. He was retired from Martin Marietta. He leaves to cherish his memories sons, Samuel Jr. and Kevin Badgett; daughters, Kimberly Davis and Dionna Badgett; grandchildren, Timica Badgett, Johnathan Darrell Jr. (Rashawd) Davis, Latoya Badgett, Maya, Demarcus Badgett, Kyonna Davenport and Ricco Davis. 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Marion Winton; uncle, Tommy (Virginia) Snapp; aunt, Lucille Craft; devoted friend, Dorothy Penson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 29, at 1 p.m. and receive friends from noon-1 p.m. at Logan Temple AME Zion Church, 2744 Selma Ave, Knoxville. Interment to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Louisville. Friends may visit at 3807 Titus Way #140 North Ridge Crossing, Knoxville. Body may be viewed after noon on Friday at Foothills Funeral Home, 910 E.
