I.C. Clift , a longtime Knox County politician, died Monday at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital. He was 80. Mr. Clift , of Strawberry Plains Pike, was named Knox County building commissioner in May 1956. He resigned from the post in 1960, planning to run as the Republican candidate for Circuit Court clerk. He also worked as a city building inspector and retired from the district attorney general's office. Among his survivors are wife, Mrs. Beulah Williams Clift , Strawberry PlainsPike; son, Roger Clift , Jacksonville, Fla.; and daughter, Shirley Clift , Atlanta. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today at Lyons Creek Baptist Church with funeral to follow at 8 p.m. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Trentville Cemetery. [S87] Death Certificate.
