Survivors: sons and daughters-in-law, Earl and Margaret Giffin of Maryville, Sam Giffin of Illinois, and Bob Giffin of Georgia; daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and James Loring of Illinois, Betty Giffin of Illinois, Dorothy Walker of California, and Nancy and Paul Giacolona of Indiana; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; sisters, Essie Carpenter and Etta Bea Harris, both of Maryville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 8 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2001, Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Louis Ketron officiating. Interment 10 a.m. Friday at Carpenter's United Methodist Church Cemetery.
