Elvin (Willis) Jessie, age 60, was born March 20, 1946 and went to be with the Lord August 28, 2006.
He professed faith in God at the early age of 10. He was a member of Straight Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents: Elvin and Rosa Jessie; brothers: Norman, Lynn, and Joe Jessie; sister: Naoma Jean; grandparents: Anderson and Nellie Campbell, Charles and Rowena Jessie; brother-in-law: Phillip Harness; sister-in-law: Betty Ruth Jessie.
Survivors include his wife: Alene of New Tazewell; daughters: Andrea of Murfreesboro, Rebecca and husband Joe Asher; son: Joseph and wife Kelly of Gallatin; brothers: Keith and wife Judy of New Tazewell, Bill and wife Anita of Lexington, Ky; sisters: Ann Harness of Maynardville and Carol and husband Cliff of Knoxville; grandchildren: Caelyn Asher, Calie and Trey Goins; sisters-in-law: Sis Jessie of Tazewell, Madeline Alston of New Tazewell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Howard and Faye Bull; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Tuesday, August 29 at 8 p.m. in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Randall Pressnell and Rev. George Walker officiating. Songs by the Liberty Quartet and David Painter. Burial in the Birch Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Gary Jessie, Johnny Jessie, Wayne Jessie, Jeff Jessie, Scott Harness, Greg Keck and Brian Jessie.
Coffey Funeral Home in charge.
