ROACH , JACK ALLEN age 80 passed away March 9, 2007 at his home. He accepted Christ as a young man at Oakwood Baptist Church. He was a longtime member of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church where he was involved with the TV ministry. He touched the lives of many young people as a supervisor at Liberty Street Area Vocational School and Auto-Mechanics teacher at Fulton High School. After retiring from the city school system, he enjoyed driving for local tour bus companies. He graduated from Old Knoxville High School, served overseas for 2 years in Italy in the US Army. As the war ended and married Betty Jean Keck on April 16, 1954. He continued his education becoming a licensed mortician, embalmer, and funeral director. He graduated with honors from UT Knoxville. He was a 50 year member of the Mason's McKinney Lodge #4333 and Scottish Rite Temple. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Betty K Roach ; his sons, Gregory and wife Judy, and Michael "Doc" Roach ; grandsons, Kendall, Kevin, and Andrew Roach ; brother, Bill and wife Charlotte; several nieces and nephews and other family members. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery at 10:00AM Saturday for a graveside service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wallace Memorial Baptist Church TV Ministries, 701 Merchants Dr., Knoxville, TN 37912.
