PEKIN -- Verna Dorothy Winstead , 71, of 1601 LaMar Drive died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 1994, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
Born July 8, 1922, in Loudon County, Tenn., to John B. and Annie Marie O'Neal Millsaps , she married J.D. Winstead on Sept. 21, 1943, in Loudon County. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Joe David of Okeechobee, Fla., and Michael Allen of Morton; three sisters, Johnnie Mae Richardson and Dollie Ann Kirby, both of Maryville, Tenn., and Eva Aileen Frank of Rockford, Tenn.; one brother, Joe Gilbert Millsaps of Porter Springs, Ga.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Three sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
She was a member of Pekin First Church of the Nazarene and its Ladies Prayer Group.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at her church. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
