Inez Walker Hodge, age 88, went to be with the Lord at home on August 19, 2013 after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Birmingham, AL on July 22, 1925 to William Abraham and Martha Katherine Boring Walker. In 1952 she married Raymond Henderson Hodge. They had almost 57 years together until his death in December 2008. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Knoxville and served for eighteen years in the shut-in ministry. She retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory after many years of service. She was an avid reader and when she was younger loved camping, hiking and traveling with her husband and friends. Preceded in death by: loving husband and best friend, Raymond; parents, Abraham and Martha Walker; brother, William (Bill) Walker Jr. Survivors include: brother, Fred Walker Sr.; brother & sister-in-law, Orville & Reba Walker; brothers-in-law, John Max Hodge & wife Wanda and Arthur Hodge & wife Helen; sisters-in-law, Edna Whitehead, and Joy Reagan & husband Ben H.; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; special nephew, Charles (Chuck) Walker; and special friend, Margaret McCarroll. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. Carl White officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 23, 2013 at Grandview Cemetery.
