Charles B. Styles, age 56, of Newport, formerly of Pittsgrove Township, died Friday, August 31, 2001 at his home. His death was sudden and unexpected.
Mr. Styles was born in Bridgeton and was the son of Monroe E. Styles of Pittsgrove Township and the late Norma Freshour Styles (formerly of Bybee).
He has lived in Newport for the past 6 months and prior to that had been a resident of Pittsgrove Township.
He was presently employed as a meat cutter with Wal-Mart in Newport, TN. Before he had been an auto mechanic, truck driver, and a warehouse worker in the Pittsgrove Township area..
He was a member of the Italian-American Political Club in Bridgeton, Fifth Ward Club in Bridgeton, Mead-Woodward Post, V.F.W., Elks Club of Clayton, and was an avid N.A.S.C.A.R. racing fan.
Besides his father, survivors include his son, Charles B. Styles, Jr., and his wife, Laura, of Deerfield Township; two sisters, Linda Crescitelli and Mary Francis Harbs, both of Pittsgrove Township; two grandchildren, Ashley and Zachary, both of Pittsgrove Township; and several relatives in the Bridgeton and the Newport, TN area.
The funeral will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Padgett Funeral Home, 1107 State Highway 77, Upper Deerfield Township. Cremation will follow in Laurel Lawn Crematory, Upper Deerfield Township.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Padgett Funeral Home prior to the funeral services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to a charity of one’s choice.
