He was a mechanic at the B.P. Station in Lake City. He was a member of Black Oak Baptist Church. Preceded in death by parents, Lloyd and Mary Daugherty Hamby . He was born June 6, 1957, in Knox County, Tennessee. Survivors: daughter, Nikki Hamby of Clinton; stepson, Michael Roberts of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters, Marlene Woods of Oliver Springs, Sandy Collins and husband Terry of Maynardville, Teresa Davis of Andersonville, Alesia Rich and husband Marshall of Clinton, and Michelle Hatmaker of Clinton; brother, Mike Hendrix of Heiskell; several nieces and nephews. Devoted friends, Chris and Charles Hammons of Clinton. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2000, at Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Clinton. Graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Black Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home of Clinton incharge of all arrangements.
