Campbell, Roy A. ? age 81 of West Knoxville, was born December 25, 1926 to Jesse McKinley and Alice Jordan Campbell, passed away October 28, 2008. A U.S. Army veteran of WWII, he retired from Oak Ridge Y-12 after 33 years of service. A member of Farragut First Baptist Church, he was a proud, life-long farmer. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Campbell, and a brother, Robert J. Campbell. Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Clara Lou Stooksbury Campbell; brothers, Paul Campbell and his wife Bonnie; Earl Campbell and his wife Wanda; a sister, Gladys Campbell; sister-in-law, Alvah Campbell; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends Friday, October 31 from 5-7 p.m. at Highland West Funeral Home, 9913 Sherrill Lane, with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. Bill Mitchell. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 1 at Loudon Memorial Gardens, military honors presented by Volunteer State Veterans Honor Guard. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
