Mr. Anthony Greer Baxter, age 55, passed away Wednesday morning, December 8, 2010, at his home. He was preceded in death by his daddy Greer Baxter and grandparents Jasper and Edna Baxter and Lewis and Eula Ford. He is survived by his daughter Sandra Baxter and son and daughter-in-law Tony L. and Jessica Baxter, grandbabies Elizabeth, Tony Lee, Robert, and Tapanga Baxter, all of Cosby; mother Mary Ellen Baxter of Newport; sisters and brothers-in-law Faye and Brian Ball of Cosby and Jane Ann and Bill Turner of Newport; brother Danny Phillips of Cosby; brothers and sisters-in-law Jack and Dale Baxter of Newport, Lewis and Carolyn Baxter of Dandridge; and Ralph and Joyce Baxter and Donald and Sissy Baxter, all of Newport; and stepsons Jackson McGaha and Joseph McGaha, both of Newport. Additional survivors include his ex-wife Debbie Sutton, several nieces and nephews, including special nephew Brandon Fox, and many good friends. Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010, at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Green officiating. Family and friends will meet at the Baxter Family Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010, for the 11:00 interment. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Costner-Maloy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to help with final expenses.
