Lucille Dockery McMahan, age 82, of Maryville, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2012, at Kindred Transitional Care of Maryville. After many years of working with car dealerships she retired from Murphy Oldsmobile. She was of the Baptist faith. Her special hobby was research of her ancestral history and giving special care to others. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Carl Edward McMahan; father, Rollen Dockery; mother, Nettie Brown Dockery; brothers, Douglas McArthur Dockery, G. M. “Junior” Dockery, R. L. Dockery, and Robert R. “Bobby” Dockery; sisters, Betty Earlene Dockery and Beecher Dockery; sister-in-laws, Mary Ellen Hill Dockery, Barbara Jennings Dockery, Virginia Myers Dockery, and Birdie Allen; and brother-in-laws, Pink Evans and Reuel Jennings. She is survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Morris E. “Jerry” and Evelyn Dockery of Maryville, Earnest Paul and Reba Dockery of Hayesville, NC, and Charles E. and Judy Dockery of Maryville; sisters, L. V. Evans of Maryville and Violet Jennings of Clinton; sisters-in-law, Bessie Dockery of Murphy, NC and Mary Bess Dockery of Maryville; brother-in-law and spouse, Tom and Donna McMahan of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Dorothy Webber of Maryville; and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Special thanks to friends and neighbors for their thoughts and prayers, Dr. Mark Green, and the staff of Blount Memorial Palliative Care and Kindred Transitional Care for their special care. Funeral service will be held 7:00 PM Monday, September 10, 2012, at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. James A. Beasley and Rev. Tom Hatley officiating. Family and friends will gather 11:00 AM Tuesday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041, www.millerfuneralhome.org.
