(August 7, 1927 - December 7, 2010) U.S. Veteran Carl Edward McMahan, 83, of Maryville, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 07, 2010 at his home. He was veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II. He was retired from ALCOA Inc. after 42 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hiram and Mary Ann White McMahan; sisters, Birdie Ruth Allen, Eula Davis, and Hazel McMahan; and brother, Grey McMahan. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lucille Dockery McMahan; sister, Dorothy Webber; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Donna McMahan; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Miller Funeral Home, Magnolia Chapel, with Rev. James A. Beasley officiating, with the interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville.
