  [S4] Knoxville News-Sentinel (Tennessee), 7 Dec 2010. GARLAND, BETTY SUE - age 71 of Knoxville went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 6, 2010. She was the 2nd child of James & Almeda LaFevor, sister to Claudette Terry and Janis Maynard both of Knoxville. Betty married Bill Garland in 1957 and bore four children, Bill Jr., Randy, Cathy and Melissa. She was a faithful servant of the Lord, and a member of the Church of Christ. Betty was a devoted daughter, loving wife, adored mother, grandmother and caring Christian. She is survived by husband Bill; children: Bill Garland Jr. (Sherry), Randy Garland (Inez), Cathy Tolliver (Allen), and Melissa Solomon; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Receiving of family and friends will be held at McCarty-Evergreen Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 7th from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Thorngrove Cemetery on Wednesday, December 8th at 3:00pm. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home at 2:15 p.m. to go in procession.
