Four of the seven brothers served in the military. Ralph worked for Alcoa Aluminum company, a war sensitive
industry, and Claude, being the eldest brother, was not called to serve. Their proud parents were the late Luke Storm Sr. and Mary Jane Lindsay.

LINDSAY , H. LON - age 83, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2001, at his home, following an extended illness. A lifelong member of West Lonsdale Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by parents, Luke and Mary Jane Lindsay ; brothers, Claude, Ralph, Herbert and L.D. Lindsay ; sisters, Myrtle Sharp, Ethel Dagley and Ruby Sims. Survivors: loving wife of 61 years, Mrs. Elvarez Broome Lindsay ; daughter, Lonna Lindsay ; daughter and son-in-law, Sharron Lindsay Quarles and Les Quarles; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Leslie Lindsay ; grandchildren, Ashley and John Quarles, and Rachael Lindsay ; brothers and sisters-in-law, Delmar and Evelyn Lindsay and Luke and Pearl Lindsay ; sisters-in-law, Juanita Lindsay , Margaret Lindsay , and Dorothy Gamble; brother-in-law, Don May and wife Jenny, and many devoted nieces and nephews. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II, and a 50 year member of the American Legion. Retired from a 37 year partnership with brother, Delmar Lindsay , as owners and operators of Lindsay 's Service Center. Mr. Lindsay was a 51 year member of Charles H. McKinney Lodge #433, a 32 degree Mason in the Scottish Rite, and a member of the Kerbela Shrine Temple. Mr. Lindsay and his wife are long time active members of the May Chapter of the Eastern Star. He served as a gate keeper and usher at U.T. Football and Basketball Games for 30 years. The family wishes to express their appreciation to Dr. Sybil Wray, Dr. Michael Carlson, the patient care staffs on 3N, 7N, and 9N, at Fort Sanders Regional Medial Center and Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center, along with the staff of Priority Health Care. Interment will be Friday, March 16, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews, Sam and Bob Gamble, F. H. and Jerry Dagley, Bill Sharp, and Dwight and Chris Lindsay . Honorary Pallbearers will be the Couples Class, Adult #2 Sunday School Class and Recycled Teenagers of West Lonsdale Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests, memorials be made to the Building Fund at West Lonsdale Baptist Church, 2720 Dayton Street, Knoxville, TN 37921. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home, of Clinton, in charge of all arrangements.
