Burnett, Lela Frances age 100 of Maryville, passed away Monday, September 6, 2004 at Asbury Place. She was a member of Logans United Methodist Church. She was a principal and teacher at the school in Cades Cove before it became a part of the National Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Burnett Sr., parents, John & Lila Clabough; brother, Rex Clabough; sisters, Beulah Gray & Ina Teffeteller.
Survivors include her sons & daughters-in-law, John & Willie Burnett of Maryville, Burl Jr. (Sonny) & Maxine Burnett of Maryville; grandchildren, Gary Burnett of Columbus, Oh, Rodney Burnett of Scottsdale, AZ, Timothy Burnett of Maryville, Shaun Burnett of Woodsfield, OH, Shirley Stinnett & husband, Steve Stinnett of Maryville and Mary Jane Burnett of Etowah; 7 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother & sister- in-law, John Jr. & Virginia Clabough of Maryville; sister & brother-in-law, Navada & Mayford Clark of Maryville; sister-in-law, Ruth Clabough of Maryville; special friend, Hattie Norton of Maryville; many nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
Family & friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 9, 2004 at Logans Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery for graveside service & interment with Rev. Ann Robbins and Rev. Ronnie Longmire officiating. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Burnett to Logans Chapel United Methodist Church, 4626 Logans Chapel Loop, Maryville, TN 37804.
